Actions run as later steps in a FlowMattic workflow. Map `DOCUMENT_ID` from the trigger when the step needs an existing document. The workflow owner for a new document is the WordPress user running the step. In a cron or webhook that user is often `0`.

## Create a Document

**Create document from template** copies a template, fills variables, and can send it.

| Variable prefill | No | JSON object or one `key=value` pair per line. At most 40 pairs. Keys match template variables |

The response includes `SENT` (`yes` or `no`) and, when signing URLs are allowed, `SIGNER_n_EMAIL` and `SIGNER_n_SIGNING_URL`.

## Send, Remind, and Message

| Send document | Document ID | Sends the existing document |
| Send email reminder | Document ID, optional signer email | Empty email reminds every pending signer |
| Send channel reminder | Document ID, channel, optional signer email | `whatsapp`, `sms`, `slack`, `telegram`, or `teams` |
| Send Slack message | Message | Uses the Slack webhook configured in WPsigner |
| Resend invitation | Document ID, signer email | Signing or approval invitation. The document must be sent or viewed, and the person must still be open |

Resending an invitation also fires **Signing invitation sent** or **Approval request sent**. Do not point that trigger at **Resend invitation** for the same person, or the workflow can call itself. A short rate limit blocks immediate repeats.

## Update the Document

| Cancel document | Document ID | Cancels an open document |
| Add tag | Document ID, tag | A document can hold up to five tags |
| Remove tag | Document ID, tag | Removes that tag and keeps the others |
| Update document title | Document ID, new title | Maximum 200 characters |
| Set expiration | Document ID, expiration | `Y-m-d` or a date PHP can parse. Empty clears it. Not more than five years ahead |
| Set signer message | Document ID, message | Included in the next signing email. Empty clears it. Maximum 2000 characters |
| Add signer | Document ID, name, email, send invitation | Refused on a completed, declined, expired, cancelled, or trashed document |
| Remove signer | Document ID, signer ID or email | Refused when the person already signed, approved, or declined, and on a closed document |
| Get signers | Document ID | Returns the current signer fields for the next step |
